I'm expecting hatches from the 18th-31st!! So excited!!! This pic is my Hattie girl. She was badly injured by reg size chickens( girl I got from had them together!?) but with time, love and patience, I was able to save her! She is very very attached to me, as you can see, and so sweet! But I don't think I'll ever be able to breed her due to her traumatic experience! And that's ok!

What happened to her? I kept my Seramas with my standards this year, nobody hurt the little guys... In fact my tiniest hen was fighting my Ameraucana cockerel!

ALL depends on how brave he is and if your hens are tolerant of him. What breed/s of hens do you have?

My mixed flocks roo is very small, less than a 1lb.he does ok. He learned to leave the RIR hens alone(they don't like anyone) but otherwise he gets along fine. Make sure you have escape routes and safe zones for him. I put several areas scattered around that the LF don't have head room but the bantams do. Also pallets placed sideways make good LF fencing. The little guys can scoot right between the planks.

The girls Roos were trying to mount the hens and attacking the Roos. Happy I was able to save 1. Oh and I was wrong! Hattie has taken a liking to Shadow and is now laying!!! And Bonnie is sitting on 7 eggs!!!!!

Well, then give it a try when he is older, like sexually mature age.

I have a few LF in with my serama. It started as a LF flock, but now there are only 4 of them and a silkie with 13 serama. Toy is a serama roo and he is in charge of everybody, even the up and coming BLRW cockerels (LF) don't mess with him though they are far past crowing age (NO ONE crows around Toy but Toy haha) and will challenge anyone else.
