I'm expecting hatches from the 18th-31st!! So excited!!! This pic is my Hattie girl. She was badly injured by reg size chickens( girl I got from had them together!?) but with time, love and patience, I was able to save her! She is very very attached to me, as you can see, and so sweet! But I don't think I'll ever be able to breed her due to her traumatic experience! And that's ok!![]()
Question: I have about 30 LF hens. If I keep the little Seramas male my daughter ended up with, would he survive?
The girls Roos were trying to mount the hens and attacking the Roos. Happy I was able to save 1. Oh and I was wrong! Hattie has taken a liking to Shadow and is now laying!!! And Bonnie is sitting on 7 eggs!!!!!What happened to her? I kept my Seramas with my standards this year, nobody hurt the little guys... In fact my tiniest hen was fighting my Ameraucana cockerel!
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
