Thank you. Ive had chickens before, but not this small. I feel bad putting them outside. But I have a huge 10x20 dog run an old rabbit hutch Im Enclosing which will have heat for cold nights. And I was just getting ready to buy a chicken coop like this pic. Do you think it will be enough? I have two roos that I have separated, they dont like each other. I will have four more hens here soon.

Ok, I need someone who knows a little about genetics. I have a 14 ounce rooster that I really want to breed but one of his wattles is like attached to his head with an extra fold of skin. I f I bred him do you think the chicks would have this? His feathers look bad but he's molting right now.

Are you breeding for funnzies or to get show quality birds? I will ask the "experts" as I am not sure what the percentage is on that... OK, got an answer for ya...hope it helps! This is what a Show Quality serama breeder said: it is hard to predict how a genetic trait will pass. Sometimes it will be influenced by the other parent as well as the bird in question. You really have to test them and see if it is passed or not. Some people would say never breed it just in case it passes and some would say test breed it. You really have to keep good records because it may not show in the offspring, but come out again in grandkids.

Well if Mr. Roo has a great temperment/personality, put him with a short backed, chesty hen and go for it. He has an adorable look on his face.

Im getting my class B serama eggs tomorrow!
They hopefully will hatch & some will be frizzled.
Question is can I feather sex tg email when they hatch? I know it only works with some breeds. Is serama one of them?

A folded wattle will pass on and is considered a flaw and I believe a DQ for in cage judging. I cull anything with a folded wattle, despite the type. I'd suggest keeping him for the wonderful and amazing pet he is but if you want offspring, get another male. Possibly you can go to the person you purchased him from and buy a brother.

Yeah I don't think I'll breed him but he is a good pet. But he was hatched out here and has a half brother but he's kind of chubby but chesty.

I bought some chicks from a lady that got her stock from castle delight seramas. I have 7 of them and they are all staying tiny. My question is, all 7 are calico or Mille fleur colored, can a pair this color throw solid colored birds?
