American serama thread!

When my babies were little, I fed them wet feed. Just add water to it like you would oatmeal. Less mess and no chance of choking on the crumbles. Plus cuts down the smell of poop.

Thank you so much. :)

CONGRATULATIONS! As far as final color......its any mans guess, :ya

I'm getting ..or my kids are... A white frizzle roo and 4 babies 2 smooth 2 frizzzle she thinks are roosters ..on Saturday.. I am so excited !!! I have my one tiny roo..nuggett... That I got at a flock swap.. he's prob not high quality to breed but he is adorable and I fell in love with that personality.. gotta have more.. need hens ! And I'm waiting on hatching eggs :celebrate

The white roo has not been handled much recently she said..with the personality they have will he prob tame easily.. the boys want to put him in the show ..and whites the only apa aba accepted color now.. and I am assuming frizzle is accepted.

I bought some chicks from a lady that got her stock from castle delight seramas. I have 7 of them and they are all staying tiny. My question is, all 7 are calico or Mille fleur colored, can a pair this color throw solid colored birds?

If all of your birds have white spots on their feathers, all of their offspring will have white spots. What you are seeing is called mottling. It's a recessive trait, abbreviated "mo". All your birds are mo/mo, and they will all pass it to their offspring. If a pair is each heterozygous for white "C/c" some offspring will be solid white, but that is the only way they could throw solid colored chicks.

So excited! Its only day 4 but was getting too impatient...just candled my serama eggs & 2 are showing veins!
*Had 12 shipped from CA to NJ knew from the start it wouldn't be great % rate. 1 was cracked upon opening shipping box...already didn't look good...7 show air bubbles & detached air cells 1 looks like it's probably unfertilized & 1 not sure yet
