American serama thread!

I just recently became a serama owner, i had no intention but it was a charity auction and now I am trying to learn about them. how do you determine A,B and C size is it by weight or height?
I am sure to have a bunch more questions about these cool little birds

Does anyone know the history behind Silkied and Frizzled Seramas? I've heard some say it was caused by mutation in DNA and I've heard others say from crossbreeding. I'm sure others are curious as well?

The BEST place to go for these type of answers is to the American Serama Association website.
The ABC business really is of no consequence in showing. The classifications are by weight.

P.S. Just wait, you will fall in love with these little birds, they are the bestest! :love

Weighing squirrely Bantams is easy. Find a light weight plastic tub, I use lg square jello containers from Wallmart Deli. Stuff/Weigh them inside the tub and just subtract the tub weight. It is pretty accurate.

My Hen went broody after 7 eggs and I let her hatch her babies, she raised them and taught them how to eat. Where to find food and water, all I did was make sure they were out of bad weather conditions like the weather being too hot or too windy.
