Can anyone please tell me what color, and class size (a,b, or c) this little Serama Rooster is? He's still very young, I hatched him from an egg.

Oh my. I have two roosters and five hens. I think I can narrow it down to one of the two newest hens as I didn't get silkies befor I added them to the flock. Should I keep the silkies and add them to the breeding stock? I have never done anything except smooth and focused on improving unique colors on a and b class sizes.

We have the same dilemma. Smooth feathers was the original preference, but the silkied ones are cute too, so..... I guess I would stick to breeding the best type regardless of feather type.

I will take that advice to hart and let them grow and see if I have any silkie keepers to add to my flock. :D

His true color will be a mystery till he is about 1 yr old.. Right now I would say mottled. :D
And you cannot tell what "class size" he is until he is full grown.

I am curious why so many peeps here are talking about class size, it is meaningless in Table Top showing

I have been to many many shows as a representative and ambassador for the serama breed. As of right now the ONLY color accepted by APA /ABA is white. This is for IN CAGE judging. There is NO class size involved in that. You can show other colors in cage but they will be group with the straight combed clean legged "misc" group.

On Table Top judging, there is NO class size involved...They are judged on their correctness to the SOP. At Tier Two judging they MIGHT be weighed if the judge feels said bird is over a pound.

On the small tiny birds, more likely than not they have fertility problems, BUT they sure do make the BESTEST OF PETS!!! I have lots of those sweeties :love

Here are the 3 Stooges, (the official California ambasadors ) my teeny-tiny ones that entertain me every nite! The little black girl PIPPI, had to be spayed in order to live after she laid her first egg that was almost as big as her! The second egg she tried to lay broke inside of her..so off to the vet! She is now 16 months old and happy and healthy. The creme colored girl Willow, lays marble size eggs. Peanut the roo is infertile. But for pets, they have NO equal! :love

Does (super cutie

) Peanut attempt to mate? Is he without sperm or is it a mechanical problem because he is too small to reach a larger, fertile hen? Asking because one of our little cockerels is tiny, and we are curious if he will have fertility problems. Is it an issue of weight? Any info you have regarding this would be appreciated.

I didn't know you could spay a bird! You must have the most awesomest vet in the state.
