American serama thread!

it can take quite a while for them to hatch- its hard work- usually it is much healthier for them to work at it, it helps the lungs and legs during hatch- waiting is the hardest part

Its not a normal hatch. it should be zipped, not a hole. wonder if mama did it? sometimes they have been protecting the egg for so long and they hear them trying to hatch they think something is bothering their egg. good luck with it. it would break my heart as well. I have been trying for a while to hatch some with no luck at all.

i see the vein it punctured. Would like stypitic ppowder ot something stop the bleeding? (Like the stuff u use to make the nails stop bleeding) i just dont want it to bleed out

I've has this happen. Its usually positioned wrong in the egg. Let. It. Sit. Resist the urge. Give it 24 hrs. Then bust it out of there.should be just fine.

Its hard to sit when i know the vein is still bleeding >·< maybe i should go sit out in the coop away from them xD
i hear it chirp every now and then. under mama i hope it hatches tonight so ill know its okay

What is the "correct" positioning for them?from what i can see he has his beat under i think his right wing if you were looking at him from his back .
you know I think it has something to do with where their butt is. But it looks to be positioned just a little bit wrong that's why it actually broke the shell. Otherwise it would have never even cracked it and died. Its hard to wait. But please do. He has plenty of food in that shell for a couple days.
