He now looks like this!



I think Finn looks pretty good! If only he held his tail up more, but this will come with time!

I have another egg from his parents in the incubator and it looks like I might be buying a frizzle sister if his soon!

He stands up nice and tall. Nice rounded front too.

My wife gets home on Wednesday. With the camera. I'll post a picture of Teeny. I'm quite pleased.

Two more of Dorothy's Sisters

Each time I look at pictures of your birds I about drool. I'm getting antsy waiting for my tribble eggs to hatch. Now that time is getting close I worry that something will happen. A bit silly I suppose as the hen has hatched many chicks, but still...

I've two clutches hatching this week. A hen I call Splash with the tribble eggs and avatar Midget has four eggs that have survived past the 14th day. Her mother hatched two of Midget's eggs this weekend. That makes the mother a grandmother before her 1st birthday on May1st.

Might be of interest-I put my three month cockerel with two hens a while back. All the eggs were ferile-the first four died during the first week of incubation-two have hatched and, hopefully, there'll be four more soon. Silly me. I was so excited about getting tribble eggs that I forgot to write down when the hen stared to brood. But it has to be soon-maybe today.

Ugh! I had a broody hen and I put some eggs under her from Truffles and she got up and when I found the eggs they were pretty cold! I put them in the incubator so hopefully one pulls through!

All this Tribble talk! Speaking of, Ra_, I got the package you sent today and will be setting them tomorrow. Thank you so much!! We'll see if I get anything from them. My error messages on the brinsea turned out to be a power loss and a high heat alarm, so.. the power went out and the incubator overheated at some point which managed to kill all those eggs so late?? I was asleep so I guess I will never know the full course of the events but it has run stable for awhile empty just to be sure.

Of the two that did hatch from the last batch, I think it is a cockerel and a pullet. They're both cheeky little bums. Haven't given them names yet, but I've been so absorbed in our new duckling and all these vet visits for all the other disasters happening here, it is not because I haven't wanted to haha
