American serama thread!

Yes, I have three tinys. They're a cute trio, but....from what I have read, many serama under 10 ounces are sterile. I've had a few in the past and they were sterile. I'm hoping these will prove the opposite. They've always been healthy, bright eyed, and active. the one pullet has two eggs in her nest. Wait and see.

I’m getting this boy. Because I’m New serama want to make sure he is a serama. Not concerned about show quality. Just don’t want OEGB.

Yeah!!!! According to the weather our temperatures are going up into the 50s and 60s. It's supposed to be in the 70's by Monday! I'll finally be able to get the 11 chickens out of the whirlpool bath.

Sure am glad I have a patient, understanding wife.
Most of our "House Chickens" went back outside today. It's above 40'F and all the recent snow is melting fast....... TOO FAST! The few days of -20 to -45'F temps made the ground deep freeze, so there's no place for the water to go. For the 1st time in 6 years, I have standing water in the sandy run. It usually gets wet in spring but drains quickly & dries out within a couple days.

The usueless bantams went back to their little patio coop/run & went crazy dust bathing. I think only the kids are sad to see them back outside.

This is the picture sent to me. He is a little younger in this picture than now. I just don’t know much about Seramas and want to make sure he is the right breed.

Looks like serama to me also. I’ve had OEGBs also, and though they come in many (many!) color varieties, that chick definitely doesn’t have an OEGB look to me. But I’m no expert.

Serama are great pets. These little guys have a nest in the kitchen. I sure hope they hatch. They are just a hand full. Her nest is in an inverted flower pot with a cereal bowl to hold the eggs; 5 eggs so far.
