Hi Bobby! I thought those had already hatched? The barred ones will have a yellow head-spot.

I am so sad and sort about all these heat deaths. I lost a precious Silkie girl from it, and it was so sad. My mister I bought after it happened really is helping but I am still bringing my 2 inside when it gets too bad. Congrats on new babies. Can't wait to see pics. I lurk on here all the time , just don't post much. I love learning all I can from all you folks. :)

I've been losing duck and chicken eggs from my free roaming birds. I'm pretty sure a snake has been getting them! Since I had a duck setting on a nest of about 14 duck eggs. She even had a hen join her on the nest.

The day they were to hatch I checked and all the eggs were gone!

So I looked around on the internet and found out how to make my own snake trap! I thought some might like to make some too, so here's how....

Take a piece of PVC pipe (the size you think your snake might be in length, ect..., I made two different sizes), I cut a cover for one end from a butter bowl lid and duck taped that end shut. Then you take a funnel (Walmart sells a really nice plastic one for $1.72) cut off the narrow end to the dia, size you think your snake may be, place it in the open end of your PVC pipe and duck tape in place. Now lay it close to a wall where you think the snake may be traveling. He crawls in and can't back up to get out!

Sure hope mine has a snake in it this morning! Sure want to catch it quick! I gave the duck and hen some more eggs to set on since they seem determined to sit!

Gotta go feed, ect.... I'm late and I feel everyone calling! But, I'll be back!

Waiting to hear how it worked!

i'm not familiar on how buff works... the calculators have buffs as fawn/dun buff columbian clear necked chicken... LOL... it makes sense to me...

but since buff/dun is involved... you will get 100% barred, but 50% black 50% fawn/dun...

so keep a bared fawn/dun roo and breed it back to the hen...

LOL... but you'll get all kinds of random birds... but i really don't know how it would work... buff breeding confuses me...

Ohhhh buff barred

Tootie I haven't forgot about ya, so feel free to copy these pics for your fight with city hall!

My new setup, still have some work to get done but the birds love it reguardless of lack of paint or wood paneling on the walls inside.

Rafter roosts which are now gone because we insulated the roof and walls, they were really mad at me for that

An old ladder I keep in there for the special chickens to be able to get up on the roost (frizzles)

Grit and oyster shell station, above it is a serama pen

another serama pen within the coop, I use these for selective breeding or brooders whatever works at the time.
