I can't wait to have more land someday so I can do some fun things like that. Especially love your special needs ladder

One day I was trimming wings and I had a light bulb moment - hello, Marilyn (frizzle) has sticks for primaries, I don't need to trim them, there won't be any flying even if they were twice as long!

Thanks!!! I'm waiting on 6 more, but they should hatch in ones or twos over the next 4 days. I don't have anywhere cool enough to store them, so I just put them in the bator when they are laid and write the lock down date on them. Then I put a group in the bator. Can't wait for cooler weather so I can let them accumulate into a group to put in at once.

We only have an acre here so not a whole lot of space but the backyard is HUGE. The ladder was a must for my frizzle who also has sticks for wing feathers and a special partridge cochin rooster who has no toes on one foot. They love being able to get up high with the others at night, the only downside of having that ladder in there is it gets pooped on ALOT, but its easy to drag out and hose off when it gets bad. I am sooooo thankful to have this new coop, we went from a 4 by 6 coop to the garage to this!

i keep mine in the house in a rabbit cage with a plastic bottom. they have lights for warmth. I keep them in the bator for 24hrs to get them stronger. This has been the best set-up i have used to keep them. my fatality rate has tremendously dropped. I have been told to change the water daily but i change in the mornings and evenings.change the bedding like that too. gonna get some wheat germ today and see if that helps also.

Hey bobby, is it hard to get a mealworm farm set up? I had a night crawler farm in a big plastic container with holes in the top over the winter (for my cichlid fish and the birds) and that was super easy! I may be looking to get into the mealworms now too!
