Is that a sad face because I killed it? or a sad face because it almost killed me?

well... if your life was threatened that's great... but i'm kinda passionate about reptiles... i'm a firm believer in relocating them... but one time i found a 15 foot burmese python under my house; i did kill it... mainly because we have kids and dogs... it was a threat to my family and myself... it belonged to the guy across the street and one time i found him behind my couch...

BEHIND MY COUCH!!!!!...

so it was sort of an SSS kind of deal... he never knew, and never told anyone... until now... LOL... but still, if it wasn't such a danger, i would've just called animal control, or captured him and given him back... but this guy was aggressive and escaped a bunch of times... i wouldn't want to wake up wrestling with a 150 pound monster of pure muscle...

i have had found rattle snakes near my house... i would pick them up and move them to the mountains... (down the street... near sue's house LOL...)

If you keep killing snakes, you're going to start having a rodent problem. I'd secure the henhouse and leave the snakes alone! :)

100% true... that's why i don't kill the falcons and hawks that want to eat my birds either... they were taking out my pigeons, so i got rid of the pigeons... i don't want them filling up on pigeons and leave the rodents alone... LOL...

king snakes also eat rattle snakes... i rather get bitten by a king snake a hundred times than to lose a finger or two from a rattle snake...

Hi Lisa,
Was it me you bought them from? I'll have more hatching in two weeks ... but like Memphis said, Amy the SCNA rep usually has cockerels and pullets too. Oh, you can see the parents on my website link too. If it WAS you ... I am still embarrassed about my entryway!!!! I just filled Memphis in, but to fill everyone else in here's what happened - can you say MORTIFIED!
So, last week I put a new dog door in that has three flaps. My 2.8 pound chihuahua wasn't too sure she loves it. But then I worked the next three 12 hour shifts so I didn't know exactly what happened, except my DH said he had to help her out a little. So fast forward to my first day off ... I've been rushing around all morning, just get home, and a nice young lady comes by 10 minutes later to pick up chicks. Unknown to me Bessie had pooped and peed all over the entry way. I didn't even look, because she never has accidents. So I open the door, and the nice lady starts laughing, and I look and I'm am speechless! The only thing I can think of is that the cat had been sick, and maybe he didn't make it to the box (cause you know the dogs have a dog door). So I blamed it on the poor cat, and kind of tried to ignore it, thinking why can't I get a do over! Then later I talked to DH and I guess he was actually putting Bessie outside every two hours, but didn't tell me that. Sigh ...
So if it was you, I am SO sorry!!! I'll be embarrassed for weeks!

I am not worried about a rodent problem. It is about the 10th snake we have had this year. Yesterday I relocated a baby snake to a less populated area. I will rehome as long as they haven't killed any chickens. They can even have all the eggs they want, but once they start kill chickens its game on!! They will never leave and it was to ticked to catch and rehome. I have lost 11 chickens this year to snakes. They are even killing chickens the size of serama hens...there for I am not taking chances.
