I had thought I had found the perfect baby, a little black frizzle serama chick - exactly what I wanted. So I emailed and the lady who posted the ad wrote back saying she had sold ALL her seramas the previous week.

Just make sure you leave them with mom long enough to get all dry and fluffy. I usually wait 24-48 hours and try to move a couple at a time. The babies do fuss some but seem to do better if they are not alone.
I have this crazy broody girl that has been sitting on staggered hatches for weeks. She has been a huge help, no worrying about the incubator! I adore this bird and her service as a broody is priceless...makes me love her even more! Here she is sharing her nest and her baby....

Brooder is ready to go and I can very easily take them at hatch time if it is better. Thanks for the heads up........it would kill me to hear them cry!

I have a hard time keeping my hands off my peeps and my grown chickens! I love handling them and soothing them. If I couldn't do that, a lot of the magic would be lost! I'm definitely a "hands on" person. Thanks
