98 degrees here and our air conditioner froze up! Got home and it was 85 in the house and hot air blowing in through the vents! Thought I was gonna die. Thank God no power outage here but I have a backup batter that should run for 8 hours if it does go out and my incubators are plugged into it.

I appreciate it. Say hi for me

Good morning!!!!

Power came on in the middle of the night. So THERE IS COFFEE!!!!! It was an interesting evening. DH played neighborhood watch commando all night, chasing off rogue vehicles that came down our street. He found a cat with no tail, and brought it home.

I thought he hated cats?

I live right around the corner from a gas station, and when I got home from soccer practice, I felt so bad seeing about 20 cars in the gas station, out of gas, and can't pump. The station had no back up power. They basically had to wait it out until the power came on! Fortunately I had filled my tank in the morning, and was okay.

Good news... my Serama diapers arrived last night! Now my birdies can free range the house again!! They'll be so happy.... once they get past the whole diaper thing.

I need to know how to rig up the incubators to a car battery since we are usually gone for 14 hrs or so at a time.

Gah, could you imagine??? NO coffee???? LOL, I've already had mine. Gotta turn horses out shortly and I'm soaking some alfalfa cubes for the wyandottes. Then I think I'm going to clean out the feed shed. DD lets it get in a mess and it needs it. Gotta see about going to get some hay too.

Hope y'all have a great day!

get a power inverter for a car hook it to the battery and just plug it in . thats the easyest way to do it .

Thanks. I have one of those. So y'all just run off the battery all the time?

my inverter is hook up to a solar panel so it charges the battery at the same time ! incubator to the inverter . inverter to the battery and solar panel hook to the battery and if that fails i have the back up generator . just try to take my power away . lol not in this house .
