I think your color name is very appropriate for his coloring! Breeding him should be very interesting!

Thank goodness my husband doesn't mind.........I have 2 of those large plastic brooders on my kitchen table and another hatch in the bator. I really miss my birds when I have to put them in the coop.

i always keep one or two down at the house . and i find myself going to check the flock a few times a day . but are house is small and the dust from them kills me and destorys my house so i choose not to do chicks in the house .

I know what you mean about the dust! I probably could keep a couple here with us. My coops are really close to the house and I usually spend a couple or hours or more cleaning, rearranging and just picking at things in the coops and of course for the nice days I always have my chairs in the pens and an adequate supply of treats. It is just so nice sitting out there and watching them when the weather is nice. If it is not, I sit in their coops and play with them. Love the serenity my birds bring to me!!

Good Morning............

Welcome Spirit Dance.......................My experience has been that they are not like any other breed I have had.
I hope you give them a try..........

Bigb.......He is gorgeous............wish we were closer, I would be happy to give you space at my house to grow out babies............
Perhaps you would want to think about accepting help from a few folks to hatch and raise some chicks for you.............

OMG Chicklette...................I read your post to my husband this morning................brooders on the kitchen table..

I told him see..I'm not addicted.I only have them in the bathroom, laundry room and my bedroom.........oh and the garage of course...............
Thank You for starting me out with NEW IDEAS....................................

Goal for the day.PICTURES.............and am working on handleing them so they do not freak every time they see me coming......
Most are fine but a few scream like they think they are headed for the stew pot......................
I am going to try the suggestion to have them in active areas of the house and go a little slower..................
Hope your day is super everyone..................

Hi,
I have three coming also.
I did not ask him, but am thinking with all he has that they probably have not been handled...............

I am working with our 4h leader and am hoping to use these for learning about taming them...........
Should be fun.nothing better than Seramas and kids.................

Oh, and most of my friends think I am nuts.I get irritated at the ignorance about chickens...
Yesterday I was talking to someone about my Seramas and a women that overheard the conversation
said " they are filthy animals "I quickly told her, that is the owner, not the chicken." " They are very clean if cared for properly."

Really want to see photos of your birds from Jerry and also the culls. His birds are all great and I love my trio from him. I have 16 babies from my trio and watch them everyday for their new feathers. Cannot wait to see how they develop!

OMG, what a priss that woman is! It's only people who have only been to a poultry farm or some other huge operation with tons of chickens that may get that impression. We have our birds as pets and therefore keep them as we would any other pet that we live with. My chicks are on the kitchen table in my home and there is NO odor. I am so glad you replied as you did!!
As to Jerry's birds.....he told me up front that they are not handled as he has so many, however, it took me no time at all to tame them. I think it is because of their general good nature that they handle easily. They will tame easily and quickly.
