American serama thread!

Thanks for the info. I do have extra netting maybe I will put some up today. It would be a good idea. I have owls on sticks that move around and it seems to help too but like you said...you just never know and I wold be sick if something happened.

Still, be careful! Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't. This year, a bald eagle dropped into my 8' x 10' x 6' high dog kennel that I pen my ducks in and ate my Pekin (my favorite

). I've lived here with ducks for 5 years and never had a problem. I assumed the same thing--that they wouldn't get in there because of their wide wing span. Obviously, I was wrong. We covered the pen top with chicken wire and a few days later my husband caught the eagle, on the ground, shaking the door to the kennel trying to get in! He was huge and very determined to get another meal.

My big dogs seem to keep away the racoons and other small ground predators. I see racoons, foxes, coyotes, etc out on the road all the time, but have never seen them venture on my property.

I guess I will just talk to my self until you all wake up????lol- Question for the group. I have approx 50 seramas over 4 months old and was going through them this week. I have only 1 with black feet/legs and 1 with pink lobes. All the rest are yellow or white legs and red lobes. I just got a beautiful new cock given to me and noticed white lobes. My questions is- when I breed him what percent will be white lobes? 50? or is it just a hit and miss on the lobes? Thanks everyone, Anna

I just wanted to share some pics of my new chocolate split from Juliette. He is such a sweet thing! He has the run of the house alot of the day, and likes to jump on my cat. She just lays there & looks at him like what the heck! We had a movie night the other night and "Anthony" (the name Juliette had for him) joined us. He snuggled with my daughter most of the night, and slept around my neck too. Just love him to death
