If it is the Brinsea website, then it is the same sale I got mine on. Got 8 eggs in the first one and have to set up the second one.

I'm going to be asking alot of questions now that I'm a proud Serama owner! I've asked about acceptable leg colors, but now I have another question? I purchased a frizzled roo, and paid alittle extra to have a hen sent with him. He is a wheaton/bbr with nice yellow legs, she is a red/blue? (she is a tannish color with blue gray in hackles and tail feathers) with swarthy legs. But when checking her leg color, I noticed she has some small feathers on her lower leg/feet? Now the question? Is she considered booted? And is it ok to breed the two, until I find him a different hen? Her type seems ok.

Mines just temporarily til spring.. less frozen water, I probably wont keep but about 4 or 5 of the roo's and will sell them with a hen in pairs this spring, I really need to get into shipping I'd move more serama that way. Most of what I've got now once their older I can pretty much tell who the daddy was.. when they were all seperated I only had 4 roo's as breeders with one or 2 hens with them. All though I do like goin out and watching them in their new coop and run they seem tickled pink.. I have one of those 40 gallon muck buckets in the coop with holes on the side as their feeders, but they love for me to poor some out in the run, the feeder can be filled up and they'll come running out in the run like their starved for me to pour some on the ground for them to peck around and eat..

willow i would say it is ok long as she isnt a frizzle as well..... frizzle to frizzle offspring are curlys are require very special care.... long as she is a smooth bird should be alright

At this point I'm not showing or anything, but still would like to raise quality birds. I just remember when I raised horses, a very smart person told me it costs the same to raise a "bad" horse, as it does a quality one. lol

dixie shick from scna has best booted they are not typically found everywhere and not easy to get to a showable point.... infact i dont even think there is a category yet for them

Very true It costs the same to raise and keep a good as a bad!! The initial cost may be a bit different but if you go to a reputable person, in the beginning you will help your self in the long run!!
