Lot of time seramas die at day 18 and sounds like to much humidity. Its goo when they peck and drown from the goo because to much humidity. So sorry!

For you hatching pros I have a couple of questions: I had two eggs that had pipped with large size holes. yesterday was day 20 so I went to bed and when i woke up they had died. I wasnt worried because they still had a day and were getting plenty of air...any thoughts.

also have you ever had chicks hatch that have a glue substance in there that keeps them stuck in. It reminds me of rubber cement. They chicks are all hard and crunchy when I pull them out and gluey in the shell. I have had this happen a couple of times and they have to get helped out of their shells.

I think humidity is a bit high also

I am definitely not a hatching pro but for what it is worth..........what do you have your humidity level at when they are due to hatch?

aaawwwwl she's gonna be pretty, no idea on the color. How old is she? What color was she when she hatched? I have a 2 week old that looked black with a yellow bar across one side of her neck and a little yellow on her chest, and her feather seem to be turning brownish. I cant wait to see what she's going to look like, maybe your girl

I agree sounds like a humidity problem. I find that between 45 to 60% works best in our area.

No they were my own eggs. It has never happened before. One was a serama egg and one was a orphington. your go into lock down tonight. I am going to lower the humidity. I had 10 that hatched one that never pipped and then those to that pipped with a big hole and then died in the night. the humidity was about 70 but that is what I have always had it at. I just fill both trays and it is always about 70. I will try lowering it and see if it helps. What humidity does everyone use at lock down.

Yeah!! You are on byc now. I just got your message from SCNA. I was just needing a pick me up since my CC plans got ruined thanks to DH. He is so in the dog house.

on lockdown i usually have mine at 70 and run it about 40 to 45 during. Sorry this happened
