American serama thread!

Just wondering if anyone can post a couple of pics or a helpful link that explains the differences between the American and the Malaysian Serama body types.

Keyly a pic or a good description of the American body type, as I'm confused about what exactly is considered American versus Malaysian.
Malay which is better in every way smaller and typier . Slim looking ... American are fatter bigger and look like a ball even if they have type . will never be as nice. IMO

I figured it would be easier if yall could just see them here, so I am going to upload the pics I do have. Let me know what you think.

1yr old rooster, 14.1 oz not posing, just finished having a bath, not happy with me ;)

1yr old hen, 10.2 oz, also just had a bath

1yr old hen, 13.4 oz, also just had a bath.

Cockerel hatched 12/2011, I got this beautiful boy from Carolyn Baars, Thanks again!

1 yr old hen

Pullet, Hatched 11/11 also from Carolyn

Cockerel, Hatched 1/12, Also from Carolyn

Thanks in advance guys! Any input greatly appreciated!

I'm not hot on the colors but that doesn't really matter anyway and I am not breeding for show as yet . but with an experienced eye I would choose the 12/11 cockerel from carolyn Baars and the following hen if i were buying . I really like the 1/12 rooster too but he's not carrying a pose as well though it's obvious he has it in him I also like the 1yr old 10.2 hen . If she were standing I suspect she may be a bit nicer. Wish I could get my hands on a couple nice ones like those

if you would like to spread some of that beautiful Malay stock of yours (not the soup stock but the live birds) to help American Serama reach that standard I'm sure there are others besides myself that would take you up on it. :)

Well, I am picking up some eggs Friday. If everything works out in my favor soon I will have my first Seramas. The only thing is I am a nervous wreck about incubating. I have a broody hen and another hen going broody, I also have an incubator and a hatcher. I don't know which to use, the hens are new and not as reliable as they could be... and my incubators are cheap styrofoam bators that I haven' had as great of hatch rates with as I would like. Anyone have any tips or suggestions for a first time Serama owner on incubating them?

Check out my new pair from OC Seramas! I'm planning to start a blue barred color project with these two. They aren't in pose. I didn't want to disturb them to much on thier first day home but I can get better pictures in a few hours after they've settled in. Please critique!

Barred cock is 15 oz

The pullet kept trying to run away lol. She is 10.4 oz and will probably grow up to be a class B.
