American serama thread!

More (new) pics of my 4 week old little girl, Autumn. I love her color so far! Anyone got any idea what she might turn out to look like? The feathers over her shoulders are coming in colored, with white dots in the middles. She is still very timid, going through the "scaredies" right now, so she crouches when I take her picture... Gah.

beautiful coloring!!!

Here is the new chick up front with the 4 day old chick behind him. The new chick is bigger then the older chick. My son wants to call them Turkey and Ham lol.

chickens prefer to be with others of their own kind, but they can handle being alone (had a silkie for a while that was by herself, also have a roo *got hurt for the millionth time* and he as okay, ya he did miss his gals)

i took her from a flock she was a present from my dads friend will she get depressed or sad and i leave her outside she tries running away it has been 2 week she has been here i didnt build a coop she lives in the remodeled nice attic inside a old bathroom she has food water and a small house and when i take her outside she tries running away

I have a silkie hen that sat on 4 of my last serama eggs of the year. Sadly she got off the nest for about 4 hours one day and the eggs got cold. (She got on the wrong nest) So now only one made it to hatching. It is almost out of the shell!! Soo glad I now have two chicks from my own birds. Im going to raise these babies up until spring and see how they turn out. Im so excited!

Congrats Tripp. So exciting to hatch out chicks from your own birds that you paired up the way you want. I can't wait until my chicks mature so I can see the results of my stressing over who to pair up! lol

she needs alot of time with you so she can bond to you, since they are flock oriented, that will help her alot. Maybe give her a mirror too- can you get her another hen to be friends with?
