Americanas are anti-social !

She's 2 1/2 years old now and is still like that. Hates being touched on the back (so no picking her up like a football), but if you just use one hand and slide it underneath, she'll quietly sit with her legs dangling like that. I hold her over my head and play "airplane" with her, zoom zoom.
It’s normal for chickens to not like being touched on the back bc that’s how they get scooped up by flying predators and other predators. I’ve found stroking their chests is best
 
Whole flock of EE for years. Because they're not a true breed they don't have any consistency in temperament. They can vary from SUPER flighty to hop in your lap friendly.

A lot of mine will tolerate it. This particular bird is nope-nope-nope on back touches (and I have to keep reminding hubby of that), but obviously she's very people tolerant otherwise.
