wow. it never ceases to amaze me how humans are so egocentric as to talk themselves into believing that staying in the house is not detrimental to a dogs(esp the larger bred for the outdoors beeds) overall health in the short run and long run(not kennels)
I have seen so many indoor dogs with health issues(some really bad) it;s a wonder the PTB doesn't make laws against it. Mind you if they did there would be a drastic decline in "vet visits", thusly a drastic decline in commerce generated, thusly a drastic decline in the economy, thusly less tax dollars in the pockets of the PTB.
I firmly believe that bleeding hearts are detrimental to a dog as opposed to being the "humane, loving and kind" people they think themselves to be.
Personally I think it's a horrible life to be locked up in the house holding in my poop and pee till some human decides to take me for a walk and allow me to poop or pee perhaps on someone else's lawn or sidewalk. Or worse yet "crate trained" to sit or lay all day in a cage(like jail) then out only to get scolded for lying on the nice clean floor or scratching the door for "want out".
We humans are so cruel aren't we.
It is my intention only to have my thoughts and feelings shared in regards to this situation. I cannot and will not be accountable to how anyone else may, consciously or not, choose to feel in regards to my personal opinion.

I agree. Not much else to ad.

She's the only one around me lol
Mom doesn't want me to email her :| idk y thou! I mean with a mentor I get hands on learning, maybe a few older free dogs, I get to actauly run a team, I might be able to actually get Nala on a team so she could help train Hank and any future dogs! Mom is frustrating me!!
The lady runs sprint dogs if I remember right
aww bummer. Hmmm. Maybe your mom see's you rushing headlong into things that will define you as your own self. or maybe she just see's you running headlong....
Too much too fast aint really a good thing.

Yep. Just point those things out and if she still says no, then you are back to training them yourself.

Okay, I'm exactly a week, my family has gone from 2 dogs, to 7!!! Dad is mad at me, even though only 3 of those are mine and 1 will be going back in a few weeks. So in the end I will have 2, my sister just got a McNab/heeler cross pup, my mom just got a blue/red Heeler male (he's 8-9 I think), plus our 2 other dogs we began with. 5 dogs in a week. Oh. My. Gosh. At least now, if I get them all trained, I would have a team of 6 once one goes back. That is, if they will actually pull and be able to keep up.

OMGoodness. I started with 1..... then eventually worked my way up to 48 then 68 then down to 39 then 27 then 10 now 16 adults. I'm good for now. let's hope you don't get that far until/if you are totally ready/responsible. I could see how your dad may feel upset and even angry.
I wish you well in your endeavors to be a musher. It is an excellent physical activity wit a lot of mental, emotional and yes even spiritual perks..... if your your dad don't get so upset as to put an end to so many dogs on the property..... which I hope doesn't happen.
"team of 6", "pull and keep it up"... Ya eh, best case scenario, use everyone else's dogs( everyone else's responsibility to feed and care for) as well as your own(responsibility) to pull a sled.

Haha, now I wish I had thought of that.

Nice! their tugs look snug. They look they are doing well.
I'm happy for you that you're mushing but I sure don't envy you your terrain and environment.
Full moon on the snow mushing tonight for me.....
Ya...just watch....it'll turn really warm and make a fool of me for teasing y'all.
We have had a bare winter. Cindy has gotten lots of compliments from my mentor, she rarely has slack in her tug line. Only when we are stopped.

Good news.
I acquired another sled. 8ft L. 3&1/2' of it ski, 4&1/2' of it bed of which 2' is flat, the rest being a long slow curl, and another 1&1/2' of brush-guard.
Another new to me procurement(ooooooo! big words now. What next?)...... a mushing buddy sold and delivered to me a rather well used but in good condition 8 hole dog transport unit.

(ya...luv my unit. T'was a long time coming) A coat of paint and it'll be "shine"

.
The holes are 24"H X 24"W X 32"L, 4 on each side, and it has a cargo space of 24"H X 24"W X 8'L right down the middle front to back.
Of course y'all know me being a man I'm gona hafta "tweek it". I want to add a 36"W X 36"H X 8'L "cabin" on top and take out the "cover of the existing cargo space. That would create a "living space" for me with "bench and sleeping area and a lot more storage area.... and maybe even a couple extra holes for more and/or larger dogs.

I've also purchased another gang-line and staging-line as well as some chain for replacing the old worn-out ones I have.
I've also been offered a gig on the 14th that's gona pay $1500.00.
I smell fresh bloodlines coming to my dog-yard

..so I think I'm gona accept that offer...Ya think

other news....I can't seem to get my puppy pix on. I"m waiting for my daughter to help me get them off her "My Pictures"or "Photo Shop" or "Camera Roll" or whatever thingy she has.
As soon as she does that I'll post the puppy pix and some pix of my new equipment and maybe even a short video of my team hauling wood or something.
That's all for now. I've been up since 5:30 and only went outside to check-on the puppies and take water to them and I drank lotsa coffee

....
so I'm getting a little stir crazy.
