You basically got Meringue down.  Her main fault is her size. She only 35lb and she doesn't seem to 'get muscle' as quickly as her siblings did.  a bit too small for the type of distance dog I want but I think she could do a sprint race. When I hook her up with other dogs it looks like St. Barnards running with a grey hound. :(

Darn it!!! I wish I still had Griz. He had everything I wanted for my dogs. Size, brains, fur, personality!

Ooooo. You'd love Ace. He's about 65 lbs and he's got drive like nobody's business(saying we borrowed from my Ukranian friends south of my home).
He comes from a kennel in southern Manitoba. This guy has acquired dogs from top sprinting kennels all over Norht America and has bred some awesome K9's.
ace was dropped because he drops his speed after 8 miles and gets kinda frumpy with other dogs.
Sparticus is a timid one and not aggressive at all. He has an amzingly fast ttrot that don't quit and runs lead with it. He's a bit more streamlined than Ace and about 5 lbs lighter. He is coloured very similar to Meringue. Both these guys are short haired it with a double coat. That means they do have fur under the guard hairs. Very short but they don't freeze. Not a good coat for long runs in extremely cold but great for sprinting out to 10 miles or a bit more.
I will eventually get pix up, now that I know how.:celebrate. Thanks :)

Are any of the white boys blue'd?

From time to time I do get blue eyed white coated ones but not often. When I do people make a nuisance of themselves bugging me to sell.
So I say "k. Seven. But if I ever see it running loose anywhere anytime I bring it back to my place and you never get it back and I never let you get another dog from me, AND you don't get your money back". LOL. only had to do it once.
The parents told me their kids were crying for her but I just told them that it's better off here, safe, where they can visit whenever they want rather than finding her dead along the highway somewhere.
They were upset but an agreement is an agreement.
Turned out to be a great mushing dog too.

Why? You want 1?
If so I'll see what happens with Pipoon's brood. There are white coats and blue eyes on both sides of this brood we are expecting.
Soon too. Her milk is starting to come in. So probably by Wednesday. :ya
My birthday. That would be such an excellent B-day present. :fl

Seriously, I need to live closer to you. LOL

I have a chocolate lab female I'm thinking about breeding. Who would be best to cross on her? I know she isn't really the right breed, but she's all I got (for now). If I were to breed her, who would be the best choice? I want something with thicker fur so the pups can withstand our winters (she shivers nonstop on really cold days) but not too thick to where they are really hot in the summer. She is super smart but little pulling drive. Do you have any males that would cross well? I'm mainly looking for faster dogs, that pull very well, and medium length coat. Who do you think would be best?

Probably Burner or Regal. They both have a good pull. Also you'd get some amazing color and marking.
Max and Rex are your typical black over white, Snowy and Patrick are " blah! boring" white and Frosty and Shadow could stand for better coats. The other 2, Bulldozer and Jedi have a heavy coat.
You gota remember what I said earlier(quite a while ago) about the attitude coming from the female. Well, mostly.
But as I said before as well, training, training, training. Pretty well any dog can be trained to pull. Labs have a good head on them. Yes they were bred for and have a genetic propensity to retrieve, but training has to take place even for that.
A great deal of what a dog does is reflected on his/her genetics but also agree deal depends on amount of training and the method and utilizing that training as often as possible.
Does this help?

Aww. Young lady, you just touched this :old's heart. I'd love to have more "serious" mushers around here.
Ya, my niece is here but I think she's getting too carried away, lazy, laying about with her man.........and dope I think.
Oh well, she brings her 2 adults for a mush occasionally.
And now and then one of my daughters will come with me.
But ya, more serious mushers around here would be grand.
Again, thank you. I got kinda teary.

K! It's late here. Bin a long, very active day.
Catch y'all 2moro.
G-nyt all.

My brothers always talking about a white blue eye husky, I think he wants a boy.
I'll talk to him when he gets home, I think that's gunna be a month? He's house sitting

On average I get 8 whelps in a brood. I've had as many as 10 but that's rare. Too many anyways.
How many pups is determined by the mom. Her health, her diet, even breed. A Sibe's average is apparently 6 though which is an excellent sized brood. Enough milk to go around and a bit more for pups with a bigger appetite.
I'm open as to timing but it will need to be planned well in advance. I am gone sometimes for a week end or sometimes 3 days during the week during the summer.
Of course I would NEED pix for my "portfolio" of my dogs' bloodlines.
So lets see what happens.

A lab's must be more. Mine has had 13 in one litter with only one stillborn. But oh can she produce milk! Even before she welps she's got a lot and then when there are puppies, there is waaaay more than needed, lol. You could almost milk her like a cow  It would be interesting to see how well a lab and one of your dogs cross. And if it works, then I'll have myself a couple sled dogs. :D

Yeah. Once I get to start working with my mentor, I am gonna maybe use her. Just for short runs at first. Maybe Ill be able to get an Alaskan female and breed to one of your dogs. :idunno
