Ya, and it is expensive. I'll just bide my time and pick up some closer. And u could always get shipping then pick up somewhere, cost a bit more but..
I prefer layers. Moisture wicking poly, then fine wool, then cahmere, then heavy yarn wool. Maybe a heavier coursley woven nylon wind breaker in wind.So if I'm going to race, I have to have an arctic parka. What do you think of this one? It's in my price range, somewhat.

Yay. get out there.It's snowing
OMGoodness. That's crazy warm. Actually we've had it easy this year. It's only gotten to -43*C so far. Mostly warmer tho. Excellent mushing weather. Drifting season coming soon though. The trails will be difficult with bumps.Lucky! It was like 60*F today.

One thing to remember is cold aint the enemy so much as being wet. Closely knit nylon inner, feather insulation and a closely knit outer is a oisture trap. wearing a cotton garment under that that is a death sentence. Cotton absorbs and holds moisture so when you cool down you have water as insulation. A large body of water(Pacific Ocean) is a good moderator of temps for a small body of land(Hawaii) but it aint so good as an insulation for a human sized human body.
That said, if you are driving Alaskans or Eurohounds you will most likely be standing on the runners mostly...... I guess. For safety sake take extra clothes. Preferably wool

I wasnt built for this weather either. I inherited my body from Europe but my emotional heart and my physical viscera is North American Red Indian, lucky. Thanks Rez LOL it's 5 degrees here now. I was born in California... I wasn't built for this LOL
Still working on getting a sled. There are so many trails around here covered in snow.
yup, layers are good. Under Armor is good. I really like Thermax. It's hollow core poly thread in a weave not unlike pantyhose. The hollow core warms to skin and breaths amzingly.Okay, will do. I usually wear a sweatshirt underneath case it gets too hot (especially right now. I was riding for like 2 hours yesterday in a t-shirt and it felt good to see the sun.) Plus Under Armor (tight poly fabric mainly used by athletes) under the sweatshirt. I just need an actual arctic parka if I'm going to race and I thought it would be good to have one picked out for when the comes. I don't think I would need as many layers as you do up there, but good to have, right?
Thanks, I will look into that.
