Well, Iditarod mushers have a lot of weight in the sled XD
Race to the Sky is a really tough race according to my friend
That's true. I've heard RTTS is pretty twisty/windy is some places. If your friend has any other advice, I'd love to hear it.

Dang! I'm just jealous reading your posts about getting to different races. Gee I'm happy for y'all though. Me?... have not been to a single race1 all darn year. As a matter of fact I haven't even been mushing the last cpl weeks. Too busy at work.
On the more upside, we got way enuf sno now. Nice stuff too. Fine, "packable" powder. I took out the snomo and dragged a cpl trails yesterday to let them freeze/firm. I was gona mush today but got a call to go in to work. It is a nice feeling to know my skills are appreciated but I just wana mush..Then... it was raining here today!
It got to plus 5*C. Too warm to mush my furry K9's. Oh well, I had to work till 5 anyways.
Hey.....I know where that word "mush" came from. The French say "MARCHE"(mar-r-rsh). "Go!", a command for forward action.
The Cree say "MACAN"(maa tsaan or maa tshaan("aa" like a crow sounds 'caw')). It actually means "it is bad" when used with certain other words but we younger here use it to command someone into action too... ....so, ya, "Go!"
Actually, some of the old ones ussta use "EKWA!"( long A, short u) Lets Go!. It could also mean now, then, while or whilst...again depending on which words are used before and after it.
Anyways,LOL, Marche+Macan= Maa sh. =Mush
I hope y'all don't mind e reading what you's were talking/typing to each other about.
However I must say I did thoroughly enjoy witnessing young people discuss mushing and y'all have my full encouragement to continue and grow in this most beautiful activity.
I look forward to seeing your names in the lineup one day and would be so proud of you,s.![]()

Oh ya... I would love to enter them races,... but I figure if I am gona spend 100's of $$ on travel, accomadations, etc., to be in a competitive event I may as well compete,... but I know I'd get my butt whooped,... because my dogs are not as speedy as the ones everyone else is using today. So I figure "Why bother?! I can spend my $$ wiser. I got beauty and peace here to mush in/on/around/through/with....".
But I can still be proud of y'all.
:That stinks. School is interfering with my mushing schedule too. At least you've got snow; all of our is just about gone. We had a little sprinkle here today but it's just mud now. It's about 40*F here too so everything is mud.![]()
That's interesting about the languages. I'm actually taking my second semester of French so it's nice to incorporate dogs with it.
Ya. I think so too. That's good though eh. It's a much needed perk to get people off their butt in winter. It's just an all around good activity. A tad addicting perhaps but just a good thing for us. X2 I can totally relate.Yeah. Thankfully the junior races are typically cheaper because race organizations want nor jr's to enter (that's my theory anyways). For now I'm not worried about being competitive or anything like that. Even if I have to scratch halfway, so what, right? For this year at least I'm racing for the experience and plus I will have the opportunity to talk to vets, other mushers, the race organizers, etc. about dogs. Hahaha my friends are getting tired of how much I talk about my dogs....:![]()
I dressed trail yesterday. First time in 2 weeks. Wouldn't you know it......dang snowmobilers got out there and drove all over the !:"/?%(*#! area.....first time they were out in 2 weeks too. So I went out with the drag again this morn. I was about to start putting my dogs on the staging line....wouldn't you know it...
the sickening curses went out on them again.
It seems they were just watching and waiting.
My neighbors. hmph!
So I just put my leader back on his chain
and went to town(20 miles) to get feed for my stock and dogs. It's snowing again
so I may drag/dress again tomorrow.![]()

Nala had 2 Girls and 1 Boy
1 week 2 days ago
All have loving homes waiting for them![]()
Are they the 2 girls? which 1 of the 3 is the male?Yeah those are the two I would've kept too!
But mom wants to breed Nala to a pure bred husky next year. Possible.
I think if we do that we just buy a more structurely curret Girl.
