My mom hates Hank. She never wanted him. My life's been a living hell with my parents since I got him. Mom doesn't like big dogs or outside dogs.
I'm going to work a ton with him. My mom keeps telling me sell him and get a smaller dog but I'm not going to.
My friends and nebiors got a 4-wheeler. I'm going to ask to use it maybe to get him tired out.
We go on walks everyday. I'll start jogging with him this spring. Maybe I'll start him on weight pulling too.
Respect your folks during this. If you're parents don't like the dog, then it maybe best to put this on pause and wait until you're older. I know that you love Hank, but if he's killing chickens and you're mom hates him as much as you have expressed, I think you should do what your mom is asking and get rid of him. When you live on your own and can afford it, start mushing again with your own dogs. Until then try to find a kennel to handle at or if you are absolutely sure that you want to do this now, see if you can find a local kennel to board him at or see if a friend will let you keep him at their house (You'll probably still have to buy food and clean up after him and such.)

Oh. I see. I know what it's like. Been there.
My home was the same house my mom & dad lived in(after I moved from my G-parents'). Even though, it was not my house. My dad built the house for my mom. She made it into a home.
I hated their little dog Pokey but it was his home too....and more important for me to know...he was their dog living in their house.
Fortunately we had a section of land that big dogs could run around on. So I got to have 1 big dog... and a horse.. and a few pigeons. Unfortunately when the big dogs went on someone else's land they got shot.
Now the outside belonged to my dad. If the horse broke out and pooped on the lawn I had to clean it up. If the dog pooped on the lawn or the sidewalk, I had to clean it up. If the pigeons pooped on the roof or in the trough, I had to clean it up. If someone else's dog/s came onto his land and chased the cattle and he told me to go shoot the dog/s, I had to go shoot the dog/s.
It was my home but it was their house first, so...their rules. I didn't love many of them(rules) and sometimes raised a stink but my dad was kinda strict and even more-sowhen it came to backing up my mom's house rules.
Today, my oldest daughter moved out. She got tired of me nagging about her laying around Facebooking and facetiming and iPhone this and iPhone that while her little ugly Chihuahua/Dachshund(I hate little dogs and/or house dogs) pooped and peed all over the house. So instead of getting off her butt to train her overgrown rat she packed a few bags and moved out. I miss my princes and her babies(my G-dotrs) but I most certainly do not miss the poop machine.
I can relate to your stress, but I can also relate to your mom's stress. My daughter is old enough to look after herself and her dotrs and her dog if she wants. I she can find a home that will put up with her idiosyncrasies even better for her. If she will look after herself, her dotrs and her dog in responsible manner, even better. For me, no little yappy, insecure, obnoxious poop&pee machine defecating all over my house is good by me.

Although my heart goes out to you it is your mom's house. Maybe by you keeping him(Hank) you would just be pouring gas on a fire and/or beating a dead horse.
You have a long time to have your own big(or small(or whatever size))dogs and do with them as you may.
Looking back at my life and taking into consideration what I might do if I were to get into a situation like yours(again) I think I would probably start looking for a responsible home for Hank where he wouldn't be the catalyst for much argument or hard feelings. That'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Less stress for me and also for Hank, thusly salvaging what little sanity I have left.
All said the final decision, to argue the point about keeping him with/for whatever plan or to let him go, is your choice.
Love and prayers.....
I am thinking now about respect. 're'=again, 'spect'=look

Can't see how shiny it really is. 5 lite coats of varathane sanded in between coats. Not like glass or anything like that but nice.
Bonus is it fits almost perfectly on my utility trailer recently painted like my sled. I just took it fro a ride to show my dad.
Maybe I'll just use this trailer instead of my big one. It's lite and tuff.

Snow is all gone. Except for the snowplow castings. Ready for next winter though.
Notice that you can't notice the screen on the doors? Rubberized undercoating (flat black) on the outside, plain on the inside.
Gona start the other module after the spring rains are done.

I simply love that pink glow in the sky.

Son & father, 1st & 2nd, the Iditarod. Wow. Even though Mitch got 2nd behind his son he still beat Dallas' 2014 record. That is so freakin awesome. Dang that's cool.

Gee if I was younger I would start training some dogs. I would do it just to go site seeing and enjoy outdoors camping. Of course alone time with my dogs would be a great plus.

Jessie Royer 15th and Lance Mackey scratched. I know they did their utmost(more than most people will ever do but I was hoping for their sakes they would do better. And some are still out there apparently.
And.... The Hudson Bay Quest is givin'real right in my back yard. Actually that's my wife's home territory. She actually grew up with some of the guys from Churchill.
Anyway....it looks like I'm talking to myself. :gig
