Chickenmommy--I just ordered 3 americaunas-they are due to arrive on the 31st! I ordered from Ideal because they are located in (I believe) Cameron, Tx. I live near Greenville, Tx and I thought it would be easier on my babies since they won't have such a long trip to our home.
Here are my six-week old Ameraucanas from show stock out of California. My friend Lynn sent the eggs to Ga all the way here, 2300 miles and 5 out of 6 hatched. I'm keeping the two Blue pullets, Silver and Charlotte and I have two Blue cockerels and a Black cockerel for sale in BST section:
Muff, my 7 week old roo. I think he's probably mostly Easter Egger since I ordered him from the feed and grain, but everyone says with the tail and growing muffs/beard (hard to make out in the pic), he's got alot of Americauna blood.
The Twins (all grown up now!) Although these two qalify more as EE girls and they lay HUGE eggs and are more of a khaki color, they were hatched in my dd's 1st grade class as an end of the year science project. The eggs were donated by a local family and I know they're mixed breeding.
For some reason this gal always reminds me of an old sea captain. I was really hoping this one would turn out a rooster......but alas, I have a knack for picking out chicks that grow up to be hens.
These last two, are a mix I'm sure, they're sans ear muffs and beard, I love their colors though
This one was my dh's garage chicken, she loved to lay her eggs in a cupboard in his garage.
