An Alien in My Garden!

My Sugar Monkey caught an actual alien on film, just out in my very own garden!




Don't know how it hitched a ride on that spider, though...

Wow, great picture! I think these spiders are really pretty. We call them garden spiders around here and we usually see a lot of them in the late Summer and early Fall.
 
when we were kids we would catch those spiders and put them in a jar - we called them Banana spiders, I guess because of the yellow on them.

PS the jar tops had holes punched into them. In fact a bit of karma took place:The kid next door had knocked me down on ice and broken the bottom halves off my two front (permanent) teeth. Well he used an ice pick to make holes in the lid - missed and the pick went through his hand. Off to the ER for him.

Still he healed pretty quick, 58 years later my front teeth have been nothing but, misery with crowns, root canals etc.

They are beautiful spiders, I wonder what they are really called .
