An Egg question....

out of the 6 eggs that i collected this week from my new girls 4 of those eggs were DOUBLES. That's great for the fry pan but what about for hatching? do chicks hatch from doubles or what happens...?

It can happen, there is a thread somewhere about it, but they normally (99.9%) of the time don't hatch.

that's what i was afraid of...once a hen starts laying doubles will she always lay doubles ?

Glad you found your answer. They lay crazy when they first start. I had one yesterday as big as a bantam egg.

I bet that hurt!

i already got 1 of those shell-less ones ,it was the 3rd egg collected from the new girls...ewwwwwwwww...lol

Haha m and M size eggs, sounds like candy for us though

But then again I hard boil my button eggs for easter and those are the ones gone first
