An egg without any shell, not even a rubbery coating

Please help!!! i was holding my chicken yesterday and she laid an egg straight onto my foot without any shell at all!!! no rubber coating, nothing!!! it was as if it had be opened straight onto the floor. Last week she had a long string of what looked like egg white hanging out of her back end and shes having periods where she just sits looking poorly. Im really worried about her (her names Jayne, she a real character) Please help!!!! Many thanks. Sally

How old is she?

If she's young, it's probably just a glitch in her system. If she's an older hen, it's possible she could be laying internally. Unfortunately, if that is the case, there isn't anything you can do.
