Okay, that's it . . . . I am going to type out a lift of hatcheries for myself and place a copy in my chicken notebook. Thank you for these resources. Who knew?? Well, yaw'll do.Ideal Poultry is also a good source for chicks next time. They are out of Texas so their birds should be acclimated to the heat, like you have where you are. Lol. They don’t have a minimum number of birds but $30 minimum order which is usually 6-7 birds if you don’t get any on weekly overhatch special. Most run between $4-$5 per chick. I got an order of 10 from them this year, and they let you get just one of each of a number of breeds which is awesome for variety!
You're going to have to update your signature. Chicken math strikes again4 Buff Orpingtons

Yes Speckled Sussex are soooo beautiful. No problem. Were it not for you I would never have found this . . .
You sound like me...hubby can build anotherhe has built several in two years
Now I have an 8 by 8
the turkeys have a mobile and my extra roo has a small coop too..
Hooray for men with building skills that raise there eyebrows and think why is she having me build another coop and do it anyway
I am the painter..dang exterior paint ain't cheap..but if ya want it to last..
Compromise on the floor, wire means possible broken toes/toenails. Paint the floor with the cement paint...durable and easy to sweep. Or linoleum same easy to sweep.Speaking of coops, me and the hubster keep going round and round about the coop floor. He keeps mentioning wire so poop, etc will go through. I keep mentioning a floor like yours because I want to do deep litter method. Ughhhhh.
I was going to do the red and white. Even bought the paint. Then I liked the look of the old wood better lolUwww, I can't wait to paint a coop. Our first will be hoop style with a buncha chicken fabric (or whatever that stuff is called); basically a bunch of wire in varying sizes so babies can't get out and preditors in. But, I have my eye and heart set on one I can paint, have a door, maybe even a lil porch, hang funny chicken signs (can't wait to get one for the house about an old rooster and a foxy hen live here" or some such working. It's in my cart over at eBay.
But yeah, looking foward to coop painting. Classic red and white would do me fine; but hey, I'm open to something different. Pink and purple camo (naaaah; just kidding).
Take a drive over here to Texas, I've got some Orp chicks for you, lolNo problem. Were it not for you I would never have found this . . .

My husband is the same way," I don't want to spend the whole weekend working, hey babe I'm gonna be in the shop doing blah blah blah",my hubby wants to always stay busy, so I’m here to help him do that
. That man always has a project going on and honestly a lot of it isn’t even me.
