This top photo shows my flock of 5, who are all rescued. On the far right, we have Penny. She is a buff orpington who was rescued and found out to be blind. Lucy, our Black Australorp (2nd to right) was given to us because when she was 4 months old, all her siblings were x3 her size and she was being picked on. Nellie, our other buff orpington, was given to us because she was being picked on and all her feathers were plucked off her butt. Abby, the Golden laced wyandotte in the back, was given to us because she is blind (not as bad as penny.) She was attacked by a hawk when she was young and got blinded by some claws in her eyes. Gloria, (far left) is a barred rock who has respitory and leg problems and is 4 -5 years old. I think this picture shows that though chickens may seem like, well, chickens, they are much more. They each have their own personalitys, and disabilitys.
This picture shows that chickens can be friendly to all pets, not just their own kind.
This picture truly shows that chickens do have feelings, and do have friendships. They do care about one another, and protect eachother in many ways.
