An open letter to the cats....

I don't use the vinegar but here's what works for me (and this is nearly an every day thing here with 8 cats and 2 incontinent bassets...)
Load only the pee towels in the washer, set it to it's fullest load setting, regular amount of detergent for a full load, 1/2 cup borax powder, 1/2 cup enzymatic cleaner (nature's miracle or simple solution are my favorites, cat formula if you can get it) Wash in cold, if you still smell the urine when it's done repeat but double the borax and the enzyme. Dry normally.

Usually works the first wash but if you have a cat or dog with kidney trouble you'll probably have to do it again.

Thanks KD, I may have get those wonderful products you were talking about.

And include this to the letter:

Do not keep coming back to the offender who keeps teasing or torment you. Don't expect me to "save" you from a four year old who keeps pulling on your tail and you yelp everytime you decided to sit next to the offender!

Do not drink out of my glass. I do not want your germs!

Do not get up on my table or countertops, I do not want your germs there either!

You make a mess, expect me to be angry with you! You would be forgiven if you have a fever or some illness that you have no control over. I didnt ask you to wolf your food down or you decided that chewing plastic bags is a good idea instead of grass.

Do not sit in the middle of the stairway as I am either going up or down. You would be kicked out of the way or stepped on!

I wondered if I would flush out any Blood Hound Gang fans with that line...LOL

Guilty as charged.

I thought it was just MY black cat that did that!! Maybe it's an unwritten rule of all black cats. Lie in place where humans can't see you, whether under blankets or in dark room, preferably both. At appropriate time, insert all claws into tender flesh and hold grudge for multiple days.

The nature's miracle is normally $20 for a gallon of the regular, and $26 for a gallon of the cat formula. Worth every penny honestly. We go through a gallon every month but we have fosters all the time, foster cats that haven't learned how to use the box, and the 2 incontinent dogs..... don't even get me started about the fear pee during a thunderstorm or when one of us yells for any reason (I live with a deaf person, can't avoid it)
And the cat formula works wonders on stubborn bassets who like getting sprayed by skunks ever couple of months

just make sure you don't get it in their eyes.

Borax..... 20 mule team has never failed me and it's cheap and it kills fleas and mites in the wash if you ever have them in the pet bedding......
