Nice, you got rose combed ones. I like the ones that are running outside. Some have a nice type, color and comb.

Yes, those outside have better comb and color in general.

This is normal, especially in young cockerels, more space often takes care of it. However, if there's one cockerels growing out who's full of spit and vinegar. I'll often isolate him or put him in with some old hens.

This is my girl. She is very friendly and she loves cuddles. She comes and sits on my lap for a pat. She is abit of a bully to a hen lower then her when it is time for bed but other then that she is a complete em. She is a super fast runner and jumps pretty high. She nearly jumped over the pen fence. I only have one unfortunately :(

She lays nice small eggs. She will be turning 1 in November :)

SanderB, you did a wonderful job with all of those pictures. In some of them the shine stands out in a very pleasing way.

the Chook, she is a cute hen! I like the evenly spread out spots.

Thanks, My little bantam hen is indeed a really sweet chicken. And she is very beautiful too, so hopefully she will give me some good looking babys next year. =^)

They're beautiful, productive, hardy, tough, excellent foragers, fairly self-reliant, disease resistant, charming; their pattern is challenging, but I like a good challenge.

I second all of the above...! I worried about flighty but even the single combed ones i used to have were more than willing to come running and tangle my legs....I think also *colored* eggs became a *thing* for awhile and Anconas have white eggs and the recent move toward a more utility dual purpose bird especially Rangers, Sagitas and other meat/egg crosses....but if you want all of the qualities Joseph states above....Anconas have it all......I have several breeds and i rotate who gets to free range for the day.....Ancona's are always the most majestic..... :)
