Did you guys knew that Ancona´s are autosexing.
The chicks with a black dot on their breast are the males, the ones with no black dot (so pure white breast) are the females. Tested this for 2 years, never had an exeption.

Still don´t have a good picture that shows it but here you can see the black dot:


How the legs should look like, yellow with black markings. I don´t have this one, this is a big (standard) rooster and I don´t have the space to keep standards so they moved to the Netherlands.

I've never noticed this. We have a big hatch coming up for Monday; so I'll check then. I wonder if this is a breed trait or a strain trait?
 
It was visible in 2 strains of bantams and in the standard strain and also in de cross bantam x standard strain.
The colour needs to be very pure, maybe the black markings on the legs has something to do with it. Don´t know.

this is my Ancona rooster Gerald. He is a lovely looking bird but he will not let you touch him and is extremely had to catch lol.
