Ancona duckling all yellow? No markings?!

I just hatched some Ancona ducklings and I have one that’s “rare” all yellow, not like it’s brothers and sisters.

The rare duckling’s feet is also all yellow with no black markings.

I had messaged the breeder and she said that she had never seen that before. She only has Ancona dusks on her farm and no other breeds other than her chickens.

Breeder said they are mixed with blue genes so it could develop grey/blue feathers later.

Has anyone else have had a all yellow Ancona duckling with no markings before?
I honestly had one hatch out this morning, exactly as you described. It will be interesting to see what it grows up to look like. The only black on it whatsoever is the very tip of its bill.

Black male brown female would typically give you black. Since it didn't both parents are probably contributing a lavender gene and what you have is lavender or silver. After your duckling gets feathers you may see some patterning, but it will probably fade after the first molt.

It's most likely a lilac or a silver -- the breeder I buy from, her lilac Anconas are totally yellow as babies and the silver you can kind of see the patterning -- it will develop more as they get older.

The little guy/gal you see in the foreground was all yellow, they are 4ish weeks old now. I found your post because I'm curious about the copper colors in a couple of my anconas. My breeder has silver appleyards as well and I am thinking maybe there's a bit of a mix in there?

I had 3 pure yellow ducklings. As they have feathered out one is now a gorgeous 3/4 lilac, one is only showing a few small color spots, the last remains pure white.

Drake is chocolate, all the ducks are silver or liac recessive.

Picture added. The leftmost one was all yellow as a duckling, color came in the wings first. The one one the right has always had chocolate looking hue, hatched about a week later.
