Your three week old duckling looks an awful lot like our Jessie

Ok, great thank you for such a quick response ! I will video tape and post his/her sound..
I don't really hear a quack or a raspy sound.. She sounds like a chicken/duck.. But a quack that is mild??![]()
How old is he or she?
We are thinking 4 weeks. We will know when our teacher friend calls us back..

Yes, I would say definitely younger than 2 months. If she starts to grow in big bird feathers and start turning from yellow to white she should be around 4 weeks old.
Oh yes, for sure one more.. I plan on checking in the morning... He/ she has been in the class room with kids.. Teachers house, and one others friends house, nw here.. So precious..I would say this looks awfully close to mine in terms of size and feathers... Mine are 4&1/2 weeks. Honestly, yours seems a little younger if anything. Of course it's always hard to tell from a picture, but that's my 2 cents. And I'm a total newbie, so take it for what it's worth.Very cute duck! Do you think you'll get him any companion ducks?
Yes we see some big girl feathers.. Thank you all for all of your help..the teacher said this breed is going extinct, is that true? We got her just this morning..
, so we have not had time to do any research on ducks. At first we were getting her if she could not find a home.. Blablabla
. I have talked to 3-5 friends & they say ducks & chickens will get along fine..does anyone here have both? She is to big to integrate with our Moma hen with her 4plus week old chicks.. They hung out altogether for abut an hour, our rooster did nothing.. The girls keep on dusting while the teens checked out the new family

really? wow well with this many people getting and breeding them the shortage should be fixed very soonAnconas are an endangered bread. I'm not sure what that means exactly for how many there are in the world, but some ducks there are lots of, some are listed as "rare" but anconas are listed as endangered.
I don't have any personal experience with duck/chicken mixing, but from what I've read in here, ducks are happier with ducks. I did read a post awhile back where someone asked the same thing and was told she should get another duck. Good luck! You have a very cute duck there![]()
