Ancona Ducks

Pics
I got them locally from I See Spots Farm. I'm not sure if she will ship eggs or not. It's in Greensboro, North Carolina. I was really impressed - I got dozen eggs, and they were all fertile. I tossed one at day 14, but I was slow getting my humidity up at lockdown, and I think that caused some late loss, since all of them were moving when went into lockdown.

This drake hates my Pointer!

I've been drooling over them for almost 5 years now, but I just FINALLY got my first Ancona ducklings last week! They were an impulse purchase - I found them on Craigslist about a 40 minute drive from me, and couldn't resist.

There are 11 in the group - all Black and White, except for one Chocolate.

I breed Magpie and Ancona Call ducks too, so now I have spotted ducks in large and miniature!

Do you have pictures of your Ancona call ducks? I'd love to see them!

Sure! This little Blue duckling is a week old - I have 2 more that just hatched today that look just like it:

And here's a group of some of the parents. I have Blue, Black, and Chocolate. I'm still working on getting nice, round type and short bills, but these are teeny-tiny! I have a Blue Bibbed Call drake with excellent type in with these ladies this year, so hopefully the very few ducklings I've managed to hatch out this spring will be nicer!
