Yay my female ancona went broody on 9 eggs last night!! Super excited mamma!! How do I no she is seriously going to stay on them?

You won't know it until she does. She will maybe hiss at you when you get close, at least mine does but she is also a bit further into her sitting time. There is no promises or knowing for good until she does so. As is with life in general.

Is it a green sheen like a mallard males head? If so yes thats normal

FINALY getting are ducklings today! Took longer because the first batch had very few fertile eggs, so we ha to wait. I was hoping they would hatch on Mother's Day, but no such luck. We went in to see the eggs at the store the breader works at twice. I saw the eggs moving and the ducklings starting to get out! Now I have to wait until I'm off work to go get my new babies! This will be a long day.......
