Ancona Ducks

How can I add a video on here? I recorded ducks quacking to see if anyone had any ideas on what gender they might be but cant figure out how to put the video on lol

Also as a heads up.. If it's low and raspy and kinda has a baby sounding squeak to it.. It's probably a boy.. My drake has both the curled tail feathers and the raspy voice.. It's really quite vrs the deep and loud quack quack quack my hens give off

So I have an update on my three plus some really awesome news! So here they are first of all..

first up is Lucky my drake laid on valentines day and hatched on st. Patricks day.

in front of lucky is Eugene she gets a lovely beetle green sheen to her feathers though it's muggy out today so it's hard to see

then here is Mighty my older female.. She and Eugene were hatched the same day a day before lucky but she was hatched way earlier and was much bigger than most of the others.

and this is them together being curious of why I got the back door open..

And now for my news

Mighty laid her first egg!, woo hoo.. Lucky hasn't figured out what to do with the girls yet so these are all for the dinner table.. But I'm so happy they are finally producing. ^_^

Cute ducks! I like them ;)

Cant seem to find how tall ancona's get. I have 5 that I would like to either purchase or build a pen for and am not sure how tall it should be. They are only about 5 weeks old, I am not sure how much taller they will get.

well i made my pen to be 3 feet tall so i can set their pool on a skid for easier cleaning. and it looks like they still have over 6inches in head space i don't know if that helps or not.

I know that this question has probably been answered on her, but there are a few pages to go through. I just got my pretty ducks about three weeks ago. I love them! They are so cute and sweet. My question is will the ducklings stay the colors they are or will they change some. Momma is a chocolate, her name is Cocoa, and daddy is the typical white with black, his name is Spot. The babies look like they are white with black but sometimes I think I see chocolate colors on them. Also about what age will I know what they are? They were hatched at the end of April.

Hi all, just an update on my Ancona flock of 5... We are now certain that they are 4 drakes, 1 hen! :( We have a few more weeks before the ratio becomes problematic, so we're enjoying our little flock for now.

But we are also looking for female Anconas that are available for sale, if anyone has any recommendations. We're located in southern Maine but would pay to ship if need be. I would rather not end up with just a single pair this winter... But we aren't having much luck finding Ancona ladies. :-/
