Rowdy, my turken/EE X, has decided that Ellie Mae the silkie is the ONE for him. Every night I have to pretty much beat (ok, not really) him off of her. When I get done, Impy jumps down off the roost and kicks his butt for trying, then Ivy the head hen jumps down and kicks his butt some more. Rowdy will not be discouraged. Ellie meanwhile just stands there screaming, not quite sure what's going on around and to her. Yep, time for another poof cut.
Soon as my next broody shows up, I'll be hitting you up for some freak eggs.
Poor Ellie Mae! sorry, but despite feeling sorry for poor Ellie Mae, I couldn't help myself -- I am SO
at the whole visual ... yep, sounds like Ellie Mae needs a haircut or a do-rag!
The only polish that has ever appealed to me was someone here posted a head shot of her (Camilla?) and she was blue with white on top of her head. (white crested blue I guess?) She is gorgeous!!!

Happy, besides being adorable as chicks (which they most definitely are), they have sweet, inquisitive personalities. I think they are going to be favorites around here
Hehehehhehe. I remember seeing a bottle of Polish Remover at the store and for an entire moment, I was transfixed with the idea of such a thing being available in bottles. Then I got it.
Gritty is being sneaky. You know I lost a polish chick in a freak accident the other night. DH asked me after the fact where I had gotten them. (Side note: shows how much he pays attention. Maybe I should go get about 20 more chickens, he won't notice). I think he is planning on getting me more polish, since he feels like it was his fault I lost that one.
You see Gritty asking questions about broody mamas fostering chicks right? The little wheels in my head are slowly starting to turn, squeaking and creeking. I have a plan.
