Honestly I think it will just depend on your ladies...my blue orp will lay in any box that is free, she doesn't care, my brahma uses the same box all the time and has a fit of someone else is in it, my WTB wants whatever box is currently occupied, and carries on in the coop non stop until it isn't occupied anymore, but my Welsummer and OE lay wherever the most eggs are I'd just wait and see what happens

I have some square buckets I could add in the coop if need be.

I'd thought to add them before the Littles started laying so everyone got used to seeing something new in there.

I think I will wait to see if I will need them. I want my husband to drill some air holes in them before we use them. No point in ruining a good bucket if they won't be used. I'll still try the golf ball/fake egg.

The pen was removed from the run. Poor Darla, the sapphire gem, ran and hid in a nesting box. Things are going pretty good, though.
