It's not in my area it's in Fuquay Varina, I believe. I couldn't make something that stupid up. And why would I make that up. WRAL did a whole story on it.

Edited to add: It was all over the news, we even talked about it on BYC. I'm trying to find the thread...

Washington, we don't tan, we rust! We bought our seven acres with a double wide for under $150,000. Someday we'll get our house built....This is part of the backyard. We get a little snow in the winter, lots of rain all year. Moderate summer temps, clean air and birds singing!

Yes WV is very beautiful, I'm in Greenbrier, lots of old farms around here. I work for the Economic Development for 3 counties, Greenbrier, Monroe and Pocahontas. All three are very beutiful and offer different settings, Union in Monroe County is the most quaint town I've ever seen, small and everyone speaks when walking down the street. Pocahontas is very rural, beautiful dense forest, Snowshoe Resort is there and smaller parks. Greenbrier of course has the Greenbrier Hotel, famous bike trails and the beautiful Greenbrier River. Also it is where the state fair is in August.

Dang it chcknrs, you are trying to steal a potential eastern washington resident and get them to move to your side of the state, LOL JK. Western Washington is more green but its too wet for me, thats why Eastern WA is better, we have all 4 seasons and we have lots of deer, elk, moose, and more space.
I just thought of a good one (a joke)how about North Dakota, its flat, cold, not many trees, lol.

We're hoping to move to TN when we're done with our Navy stint here! I vote for TN! I'll see ya there. LOL!!!

Good luck in your home search though. It's good to see you so wide open to ideas and thoughts.

I have 10 acres in SC that came with a fixer up 3 br house, 4 pastures already fenced..the rest wooded, but corner posts already set for pulling fence, a big barn/shop and several huge hundreds year old live oaks for $25,000. We bought it 9 yrs ago. Granted the house needed alot of work and we continue to work on it here and there, but I think it was well worth the price

Well, Northern Wisconsin is definitely not for the thin-skinned, but we've got hills and more National Forest land than you can shake a stick at. My other recommendation would be Kentucky. My family is from there originally, and there's lots of rolling hills. Very pretty country.

Maybe you want to look at Pikes Peak all day, Hmmm???

That's what I see - along with Mount Evans, Long's Peak, and every peak in between.

Elizabeth CO is wonderful!

Maybe not as cheap as some places but I love it!

No one cares what you raise out here, all around us we have yaks, buffalo, cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, parrots (Yes there is a giant parrot sanctuary in Elizabeth!) and more horse farms than can be counted, including polo facilities.

Ok there is my shameless plug!

Have fun looking!
