It's summer time now.
Maybe some of you recall that for nearly a decade I've lived in this home and have used sheets-- non-matching spares, and even fitted ones over my windows as curtains.
Come May my mom had had enough and took me shopping for a birthday present... curtains. I chose some muslin tab tops from JcPennys and then got black rods with a @ kind of scroll at the ends---they look really classy with my cast iron stove... It's absolutely beautiful. Very nice to have real curtains now.
Well, I live in my childhood home and it has no air. I have put window units up in 2 bedrooms upstairs and also in the living/dining/kitchen open area.
To try to contain the area and make it smaller so the air can cool it better... I have resorted to hanging a sheet at the top of the stairs, and a sheet in one of the bedroom doorways-- I had a door but a goof ball "handy man"-- and I use that term loosely --butchered it for it needed to be shaved a little bit on the bottom to fit the door space after I had new carpet installed...but he wrecked it. Anyway... I have a sheet on my door. And right off the kitchen I have a shower curtain on a tension rod in a door way.
I know, I know... you are thinking that's so classy.
But hey....it's cool now.
