Angel Babies Summer Block Swap--SIGNUP DEADLINE 6-20-11

one more question before I start sewing:

Are we doing our appliques w/ a satin stitch or a blanket stitch??

Whatever you want. Up until a month ago, all I had was a plain ol' zig zag stitch! I'm really easy, lol. My thing is, "Does it look like something I would want to receive?" If your answer is Yes, you are good to go!

I have a friend who is always worried about it being "right"or "perfect". I taught her and her 2 girls to quilt about 10 years ago. I would always tell her, "It's quilting, not rocket science." The girls caught on really fast and would always say, "It's not rocket science" It's an ongoing joke with us now. She made blocks for the Relay for Life quilt we did. I just told her what I wanted, not how I wanted it done. She made a block called "North Carolina" for her brothers wedding gift all by herself. He's a big NC history buff. She told me, "Well, it's not perfect, but I think it's something he is going to like". That's all that matters!

ok, great! I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss a rule or something! I will probably do a variety...depending on what I think will look good with the fabrics. Thanks!

I hope someone is checking back to this thread.

I have a question. Do you assemble your blocks before doing the embelishments, or do you do all your stitching and beading on the angels, then attach them to your blocks?

I am inclined to do it after I have attached it to the background block, that way I have something to hang on to. Is there a right or wrong?

I just finished cutting out all those little "angels" yesterday. Those itty bitty hands and feet....bring back the geckos!

I am going to Joanne's (shhh, don't let my hubby get wind of that) to get some cutsie stuff to put on them.
