I recently rescued 4 ducks that were dumped in a residential neighborhood near where i live , i first noticed that they all appeared to be male ducks , which is probably why someone dumped them :(.
i have been taking care of them for 2 days now , i have given them vitamins , and electrolytes to help them get stronger , who knows how long they have been out in the world not taken care of. i have noticed it looks like all of them have a little bit of angel wing going on , and they look to be about a year old or close to it.
the blue Swedish looks to have the worse case , but the other males all show deformity in there flight feathers as well.
I have raised ducks for about 7 years now and am familiar with proper duck care , but have never had any of my ducks develop angel wing thankfully.
Is there anything that can be done for these ducks ? i am currently searching for a home for them but am giving them a temporary coup separate from my girls.

They are gorgeous and bless you for taking them in. I can only go by what a member shared a few years ago. She had success with an adult duck with angel wing and said when the duck molted out it's flight feathers and were just beginning to grow back she wrapped and when she eventually un wrapped the angel wing was corrected. @jchny2000 is the member.

thank you for the reply , i will try and message @jchny2000 and see what my options might be. my original intention was to house these males long enough to get them strong and then try and find homes for them, i currently only have 4 hens , and adding 4 drakes to that mixture might be a bit too much for them :hmm.
the whole thing makes me angry that someone would neglect these animals the way they have been.

Your so right they needed help and you stepped up for them. Your awesome.

Yes 4 drakes is def too many 1 drake to 4 ducks is a good ratio. If you locate your states thread you may find someone on BYC interested in these boys once you get them healthy. Go to "where am I where are you"

Also if you put where your located on your info [state]maybe someone here would be too.

thank you for the info , i will do just that ! someone may want one of these boys ! Just as a Reference, i am in California , Contra Costa County, i will go make a post in that thread and hopefully can find someone who wants one of these fellas.
thank you @Miss Lydia for the help

Honestly it's caused by too much protein usually as a duckling/gosling. I'm not sure how they were kept but it could easily be too high protein feed rather than neglect. I've been successful correcting adults when they are in molt only. I've hatched literally tons of waterfowl, have had 2 cases. What I do is watch for the wings primary feathers to drop, and begin to show new feathers sprouting in the shafts. I use Vet Wrap, first go around the body, compress the wrap it sticks to itself. I then go around the wing affected. This needs to be snug but not tight. Be careful to follow the birds natural body line for the wing lying flat. Depending on the bird it lasts a couple days. Keep them away from water as far as swimming or it won't work, drinking water is ok of course. 2 weeks wrapped is ideal! Try to keep them wrapped as long as you can. Ducks molt once a year so I wish you luck! Hard to judge when your fellas will.

@jchny2000 thank you for the response my friend ! i was going to message you today but you beat me to it !
i currently have the ducks eating flock raiser , and i am giving them kale and some swiss chard .
i do not know the past condition or diet of these ducks if they do happen to go into molt while they are still in my care i may do as you suggested , its worth a try if anything else !
like i previously stated , i have no experience with angel wing so i greatly appreciate your insight to remedy the problem !
based on this picture i stumbled across while researching angel wing , only the blue Swedish is at a medium (grade 2 ) and the other 3 are on the edge of grade one.
previously i only thought angel wing pointed outward but i have learned a lot in the past few days !
