Hello everyone,

I need help with wrapping my sweet ducklings angel wing. Quackers is a 41/2 week old call and we have been eying the feathers fir about 5 days now and they need to be wrapped. We bought the sticky wrap from tractor supply, but are having difficulty wrapping her wiggly, non cooperative self. We tried to do the wing only, but it came off right away. We now tried just wrapping the wing then around her entire middle, but she is a Houdini. We stared at the tutorial on here, but need more pictures or help to get this taken care of. Please show me your wraps and give me better instructions.

Thank you!

I did, but can not figure it out. She kept on what we tried last night, we did hear her trying to rwmove it most of the night...hopefully it stays...thank you :)

Hi,

I had a duck that also developed angel wing . I got a product called Micropore, which seems to be same as what is mentioned, I am from AUS. Any way I put the wing in place and taped it, but when I taped it, I taped around the outer then under the wing and did this a few times, not to firm but not slack either (over the outer wing and then under, staying under the the wing I wasn't treating at that moment) and only did one side at a time, it really only took 1 week for each side. After three days I took the tape off and let my duck have a few hours free of tape and when I taped I tried to only put the first round on the feathers and then the over laps around I tried to go over the tape to save putting too much sticky on feathers. When I took it off, I carefully pulled and cut the tape and it worked a treat. After three days and then giving her a rest for a few hours I re taped that wing for a further 3 days and it was fixed...Also giving them a break after three days helps to reposition the wing due to feathers growing. Once that wing was fixed I did the other wing. it was a total success and she coped really well and it stayed in place with just one wing taped and placed under the wing, not right around, she could get in and out of her bath and all was great and no stress to the bird other than when we had to catch her and take the tape off or retape...I know ppl say to tape both wings right around the body but I worried this would be stressful and did it differently and it worked! Good Luck.
