Angel wing???

Anyone know if this is angel wing starting to develop? This is Tito my 1 month old mallard drake. I just noticed this yesterday when I got home from a 3 day trip. I’ve looked at a few different pictures and articles about angel wing, but just don’t know if this is normal development growing pains, or angel wing since most of the stuff I’ve seen shows the wings drooping down or sticking out off to the side, but nothing about the pen feathers sticking straight up. The left side is more angled up and down then the right side, but the pen feathers are visible on both of his sides. His sister, Loko, is 2 days older than him and looks perfectly fine (no pen feathers on either side showing) Just want a different opinion before I try wrapping him.

It looks like it could just be the blood feathers coming in which are heavier and they have to keep adjusting to keep them in place. I would keep an eye on it. I had one that I wasn't sure about and it was still fixable 8 weeks, and is still fixable after that.

Since angel wing is more common in drakes, and more common in the left wing, this is one I would watch very, very closely. Can you take him to a vet?

Are you recommending that she take him to the vet for angel wing? Or are you referring to something else?

Hello..Your pictures don't look like angel wing. Look like flight feathers coming in quickly and they are prickly...Watch him for another week before you decide to wrap him.

It is fine, just a paranoid dad. Both my ducks are now 2.5 months old and flying like champs. Also figured out that he(Tito) is actually a she, and loko, which I thought was a female is actually a drake, so I accidentally had their genders mixed up
