Hi. I have 2 girls that are 2 1/2 years old. One was molting about 3 weeks before the other. She first stopped eating and then we pumped her with lots of protein snacks. As her feathers came in and she put weight back on, she became angry and started pecking and growling at her sister all the time. I currently have them separated. The other girl is now molting but is pretty normal but is scared to death of her sister. Is this a temporary thing or will they need to be forever separate😥

Molting is uncomfortable for chickens and can make them cranky, put them off feed, etc. One of mine right now is super cranky and doesn't want to be around the others at all - won't even take treats because the others might accidentally brush against her.
