Angus New York Strip was better, but still neither were really the greatest I've had.

Yep I hear you mate. It would be good if there was a way of trying a steak from each of the different breeds before you bought the cattle and then you could grow the one that you enjoyed the most.
 
The only thing that I have tried that is worse than Angus beef is Belted Galloway. There is a place near here selling Galloway beef paddock to door and you cannot cook the stuff, I bought some usual cuts, followed their instructions and the stuff just didn't cook it sort of turned a mustard brown colour and became un-chewable. I thought it was something that I did so I bought some Galloway "premium steaks" and chucked them on the Weber Q and there the steak just did the same thing except it became totally inedible.
