Maidenwolf. You might want to talk with the dfs foster kid people about the situation with the kids. They might advise you to do some things to prepare so that if/when the oarents loose custody, you can be in a good oosition to fight for them.
Getting a foster parents licence, for instance.
just a thought.

Itried to send you s private message but echnical difficulties prevented.
Havent fosterred in MO, but generally involves an extensive interview and examination of your home. Also training. That is to become certified as a foster parent. I dont know what they will advise you as to wanting to be considered as a home for these kids. But seems to me that being already certified could only helo.
Usually a relative is first choice when kuds come into state care, then whatever fosterhome they have available. Kids can be in fiatercare for a long time before parental rights are terminated, meaning the kids could be adopted.
It depends on why they were removed from the home.
This gives time for parents some time to fix e
whats wrong if possible, to get the family back togethet. Heads up, foster parents,IMO., have to be in touch with the birth parents for visits etc. The states first goal is reunificatio,. Again, depends on what brings kids into state custody. ( when kids are taken from parents they become wards of the state. The state has ",custody", )

So far I heard today, that a report as filed and he is voting to remove the chickens. Now he just has to wait till it is approved, oh the wait...

I think Redhen on here does foster kids. She would be a good place to start.

I do know that the courts really frown upon removing children from their natural parents and that taking them away permanently is a big ordeal compared to temporary custody. I was involved in this type of thing once with my niece and her child.

I am sure it is a big deal. Maybe the kids being taken temporarily would open up their brains alittle and make them see what is important. Update on the situation,, nothing as of yet I guess this is a lengthy process,,,

I would first contact your animal control or another Humane Society/SPCA. I would ask to remain out of it but do give them all the details of what is going on.Its always better to let someone else be the "bad" guy when neighbors are involved. The agencey that comes out will be able to get through to them alot easier than you or I would. They can explain to them what they are doing wrong by code/humane law and they can either fix it or not. If they decide not, then the agencey will act accordingly . Its very hard to watch animals suffer and be mistreated sadly ,there is a process that needs to be followed or you could end up will a Criminal Trespass Warning . Like a do gooder I know =[ All she was doing was feeding and watering a dog that was chained up in a non- fenced back yard.

It doesn't seem very fair but thats how it worked out. So I do understand where you are coming from.... It all depends on if you live in the county or city
